Specialist equity provision for the aviation industry

In addition to advisory assignments, MDT itself has acquired a number of regional aircraft for trading and/or leasing. Its recent acquisitions include:

Q300: MDT (with partners) acquired four Q300 aircraft, with short term (3-6 months) leases attached. MDT has now successfully remarketed all four aircraft.
Q400: MDT has acquired two Q400 aircraft for its own account. In each case we provided 100 percent of the equity, with debt sourced from external banks. We have since sold one of the aircraft, but retain the other.
CRJ200 LR: MDT and its partners acquired five CRJ200 LR aircraft on operating lease to a European regional airline in November 2007. Three of the aircraft have been placed under new longer term leases, two will be remarketed in April 2009. MDT and its partners also acquired an additional five CRJ200 LR aircraft in January 2008.Three of these aircraft are leased to a Mexican regional airline and the other two are currently being remarketed.
ATR 42 & ATR 72: in April 2008, MDT acquired one ATR 42-200 and one ATR 72-200 aircraft on lease to a European regional airline.
